Reflection:Week 15

Assalamualaikum

This week  is our presentation on project for online database.. For our project, our group has agreed to used PHP and MySql instead of using Microsoft Access 2007 to develop library online database. There are two level of users in this webpage: 1. User  2.Admin.This both users have different level of access to page.User can only search and view the materials that contain in library. Meanwhile, admin have the authority to view, insert, edit and delete materials, publisher and holdings.

INDEX

User can search the catalog by author,title or subject headings. Users can select one of the search by just clicking on the button. Below are the screen capture of index

 

SEARCH BY AUTHOR

If users click on the search button, this screen capture will display. Users are required to fill the name author in the text field and click SEARCH.

 

Then,all materials by that author will display. It also will display the call number, title, author and publication year of the books.  

 

After that, select one of the book that you required and all information such as title,author,added author, edition, publisher,publication year, call number, physical description, and ISBN of the book will display. Besides that, the holdings part such as library, call number,copies, material and location of the book will also be display.

SEARCH BY TITLE

All the steps for search by title is the same as search by author. So I just show you the screen capture of search by title.

 

 

  

SEARCH BY SUBJECT HEADINGS

All the steps for search by subject headings is the same as search by author and title. So I just show you the screen capture of search by subject headings.

 

  

Admin

INDEX

In this index page, admin can choose one of the buttons: 1. Materials, Publishers and Holdings.
 

Admin have the authority to view, insert, edit and delete materials, publisher and holdings. If admin click on Materials, this page will display.

Okay, our lessons for this week are more complicated than before.. This week, we are introduce to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC).

Hi everyone!!! It is good to hear that our class for this week is cancel due to Hari Raya Aidiladha yeay!!! But then I must remember that my Assignment 2 (Individual) still not finish yet huhuhu.. Our Assignment 2 must include this:

• catalog at least 50 learning resource materials.
• materials must be form difference format (ex: books,audio,video).
• use DDC for classification.
• use SEARS list or LCSH as your subject headings.
• use ISBD level II of descriptions.
• follow AACR II format of descriptive cataloging.

So even though in holiday mood, but then I still have to do assignment 2. Lastly, Happy Holiday my friends !!!!
